Welcome to Year 1 - Mrs Houghton

Moving from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1 can seem very daunting for children and parents alike! In Year 1, we hope to retain many of the experiences the children have enjoyed during their first important year at school whilst introducing them gradually to a more formal structure for learning. This year we aim to develop children’s abilities and confidence as readers, writers, communicators and mathematicians (and much more!) through topics that are meaningful. Most of all though, our class goal this year is to have bundles and bundles of fun!
